November in childhood

November In Childhood is the name of a national operation of sensitizing and harvest of funds to the profit of disadvantaged childhood, organized each year of 1st at November 30th, within the framework of the international Journée of the rights of the child.

Principle

The international Day of the rights of the child festival the birthday of the International convention of the rights of the child signed on November 20th, 1989 and ratified by 191 countries.

To date and according to the statistics, a child dies every 3 seconds, 121 million children does not go to school and 310 million does not profit from health care. In France, more than one million children still live under the poverty line, fixed at close 580 euros monthly per hearth.

There exists in France close to: 7000 associations in the field of the child welfare. Each one on their level, they organize various demonstrations within the framework of the world day of the Rights of the Child in order to make become aware with the French of the various problems.

On the basis of the principle that united we stand, divided we fall, November in Childhood is the name of a national operation of sensitizing and harvest of funds to the profit of childhood, which federate associations, experts of the world of childhood, institutional, companies and media.

Thus, of 1st at November 30th of each year, the objective is double, to make become aware of the dramatic situation of childhood in the world but more especially to encourage solutions which exist and are not implemented by lack of means sufficiently.

Means

The operation explores various mechanisms to collect funds with the profit of associations of assistance to childhood:
  • the product-division : products or services, for the private individuals or the professionals, on whom, without increase of price, a transfer, between 5 and 20%, is carried out with the operation.
  • the microphone-gifts: it is the possibility of adding 1 euro or less to its purchase (in general in a merchant on line). Contrary to a traditional gift, it is called microphone gifts insofar as that Ci never exceeds a few euros. The interest rests on volume insofar as if: 1000000 people transfer the sum of 1 euro, it is: 1000000 of euros collected with the profit of the operation.
  • gifts in line : it is a specific or regular gift starting from 5 euros on a protected platform of payment on Internet.

Results

Since 2004, close to: 300000 euros were collected with the profit of associations of assistance to childhood for projects in France and to the international one.

Sponsorship

The edition 2006 profits from the sponsorship of the actors Emma de Caunes and Samuel Bihan as well as support of the French Ministries of Education, Health and Solidarity and Foreign affairs.

Use of the funds

In a preoccupation with a transparency, a steering committee including/understanding 8 experts of childhood choose profit associations of the funds collected on the operation. The selection proceeds in 2 times.

  4. No counterpart of the recipients.

  1. Representativeness of the rights of the geographical child

Thus, on the edition 2006, the collected funds will be transferred with the profit of 10 following associations:
