Nové Zámky
Nové Zámky (in German: Neuhäusl/Neuhaeusl or Neuhäusel/Neuhaeusel , Hungarian: Turkish Érsekújvár , : Uyvar ) is a city of the south of the Slovakia.
The city is particularly known for its role in the History. A fortress had been built in 1573 - 81, with a site previously used, against the Othoman conquests. The city was built around the fortress. It was at the time of its construction, most modern of Europe. The Turks failed six times in front of its walls, but in 1663, they succeeded and it became the center of the Turkish province, current the Slovakia of the South. In 1685, it was taken again by the troops of Charles V of Lorraine.
