Nourek
Nourek (Norak) is a city with the Tadjikistan, located on the Vakhch river at the height of 885m at the top of the sea level, to 70 km in the south-east of Douchanbé, the capital. Population: 44.300 inhabitants.
The city was founded in 1960 following the construction of the Hydroelectric station of Nourek. The Stopping of Nourek, finished in 1980, is the stopping highest of the world (300 m).
The city also lays out, with the 2200 m height, of a Control center of cosmic space (Russian : ОЭУСККП “Нурек” ), otherwise called the Center “Okno”, pertaining to the Russian armed forces.
