Nottonville

Nottonville is a common French, located in the department of Eure-et-Loir and the area Center.

Geography

The Conie

This river is an affluent of the Loir, (Confluent with the mill of Ecoublanc close to Marboué). Two arms meet:

the first called Conie high comes from the commune of Varize
the second called Conie low passes by the locality Pontault then Chenardière

Then, it follows its course while crossing an extent called Goure de Spoy , then Raffaults to the locality Vallières then passes by the commune of Conie-Molitard.

Conie low is a resurgence of the tablecloth of Beauce, it was spread out in a marsh towards the wood of Chenardière. The current bed was dug with the hand, between the 2 wars in order to éradiquer the mosquitos and to protect the seasonal farm laborers.

The Abbey

Strengthened abbey of the 10th century located at the exit of the locality " Bois" in direction of the place known as " Vallières". Very beautiful framed door of 2 turns with loopholes and trace of drawbridge, and carries massive in oak, restored recently.

Church

Saint-Pierre church 14th century located at Nottonville even opposite the town hall, bell-tower out of frame of the 17th century restored following the storm of 1999.

Megaliths

ploughed up Dolmen said the Metal disc of Gargantua on the road between Pontault and the Castle of the Brush.

Others

Castle of the Brush 17th century: vault, 2 wings of commun runs, main courtyard, 2 turrets on both sides of the grid, large walled park.

Many houses in rouche (local reed) in particular along the street of the Thatched cottages opposite the church. The rosellières were largely exploited before, there remains about it only one factory of blinds (but out of fabrics and mechanics) on the commune.
