the church Notre-Dame of Field-the-Duke is a building of Romance style built as from the 11th century on the site of a villa of the 9th century which one allots the foundation to the emperor Charlemagne itself, which would have been accustomed to coming to drive out in the surroundings. The church knew several restorations, at the 17th century, after the Second world war, then at the end of the 20th century following a fire. The building is classified historic building since 1912.

History

Built at the 11th century, the church is one of the first and most important of the valley of the Vologne, just like the village which surrounds it, since it preexisted to the town of Bruyères. It was the heart of a parish which counted up to 34 villages or communities. Its importance also comes that it was granted by the pope like ecclesiastical principality to Jean-Claude Sommier, archbishop of Césarée
