Notre-Dame basilica of Sion

The Basilique Notre-Dame of Sion (Meurthe-et-Moselle) is a catholic building builds on the hill of Sion-Vaudémont, on the commune of Saxon-Sion, in the south of Nancy. It materializes the Culte marial which replaced the worship of the Latin goddesses which itself had been established on a Celtic high-place.

A statue of the Virgin overhung the bell-tower until it was deposited following the fire which touched the building the November 7th 2003. The October 13rd 2007, the statue was gone up on the bell-tower, after work of restoration. Four new bells were blessed this same day.
