Nothofagus aequilateralis
Nothofagus aequilateralis is a species of the family of the Fagaceae according to traditional classification, or of that of the Nothofagaceae according to the phylogenetic classication.
It pushes in the center and the Montagne S of the south of the New Caledonia. One meets it at altitudes going from 150 to 1250 Mr. It is most widespread and most frequent of the species of New Caledonia. It is a tree from approximately 20 Mr. the sheets persistent, alternate, elliptic or oblong, simple, regular, rather large and especially is lengthened, briefly petiolate, whole, is attenuated at the base, slightly is apiculées with the apex or blunt, rather apparent and very regular secondary nervation. The fruits are uniflorous cups and bivalves which contain a winged Akène.
