note is a Sigle meaning “note of the Rédaction”, and which, in the Written press, indicates that a passage was introduced within a text by another person that her author. This portion is then placed in incidental clause, followed or preceded by the initials, the separate whole of the original text by Parenthèse S or hook S.

This complement can be of a factual nature, or hold of the Opinion.

It can come:

of the editorial direction of the newspaper which publishes a text, but wishes to emit a different point of view: a article writes by one of its Journaliste S, a leading , the mail of a reader, a Right of reply;
of a journalist who takes again the word within matter that it reports in his article: short quotation or Interview in extenso .

Although the initials should normally be in capital, one finds sometimes this one printed “note” or “note”, even completely in tiny (“note”).

In the first formula of Release , one could also find “notes of the Claviste” (NDLC), by which the data entry operators had the possibility of making known their opinion on the texts.
