The Hebrew term of Notarikon (or Notaricon or Notariqon) is derived from the Latin word notarius writer .
Notarikon belongs to the three cabalistic systems with the Gematria and the Temura.
Notarikon is similar to the Roman Sténographie, in which the initial or final letters of the words in a Phrase form new words.
There are two forms of Notarikon
For example, each letter of the word tysarb, (let us recall that Hebrew is read from right to left; maybe, from left to right, and with vowels:) Berashith, the first word of the Genesis, is taken as initial of a word to form hrvt larsy vlbqys myhlq har tysarb, Berashith Rahi Elohim Sheyequebelo Israel Torah: " At the beginning, Elohim saw that Israel would accept Loi".
Six examples of Notarikon formed starting from the same word tysarb (according to Solomon Mei Ben Moïse, Jewish kabbalist, which embraced the Christian faith in 1665 and took the name of Prosper Rugers):
By this one, the initial ones or the finales or both or the medians of a sentence are taken to form a word or words. Thus Kabbalah is called hrtcn hmkx, Chokhma Nesthora, " wisdom secrète".
By taking initial these two words, X and N, we form, by the second form of Notarikon, word X, Chen, " grâce."
Same manner, the initial ones and finales of the words hmymsh vnl hliy ym, Semi Iaulah Leno ha hamayimah, " who will go to the sky for us? " (Deut. XXX, 12) are formed hlym, Milah, circumcision and hvhy, Tétragrammaton, which implies that God instituted the circumcision like means of reaching the sky.
