The not-duality refers to the identity or the fundamental inseparability of many distinctions, valid or utilities on a relative level, but ultimement redefined like being only various aspects of the same reality.
This term is used little in science, and even in philosophy, but the questions which are raised there by various the Dualité S are heavy epistemological consequences . Thus, in physics, of recent changes of Paradigme abolished dualities which one had believed until based there on the facts themselves, rather than on the representation that one is done some. For example, and rather curiously, one calls Dualité wave-particle their not-duality, the residual duality consisting of what the particles express one or the other aspect. The use of this term is however much more important in spirituality.
Spirituality and religion
The not-duality is often most subtle and imperceptible teaching of many traditions such as the Hindouisme, the Bouddhisme, the Taoïsme and it makes it possible the man to carry out his true nature by the intimate comprehension which it makes only one with all. More deeply, even the unit of the Monisme wants to be transcended in the not-duality, from where the preference for this term.
-
“Of the Spirit-A emerges the duality, but does not even attach you to this one. ”
Taoism
In the
Taoism, the constant alternation of the principle “female”, receptive, terrestrial and flexible: Yin, and of the principle “male”, creative, luminous and firm: Yáng, expresses and deploys the ultimate unit called have You chi (Ridge supreme), or
Dào. For the taoists, the duality and the multiplicity are reflections, gleamings of the One beyond all designs. The human one, empêtré in the play antinomist of the duelles pairs, does not see that they are the demonstration of this only and even principle, does not manage to carry out the direction and the origin of it, then to follow the natural way of “not-acting” (wu wei, 無為), which means the end of the attachment, passions, of individuality, and finally, the harmonization with the “efficient virtue” (Of
德 ) and spontaneous (ziran, 自然) of the
Dào (
道 ).
Buddhism
In the directly not-dualistic traditions of the
Buddhism, i.e. the
Zen, the
Dzogchen, the Mahāmudrā, the
Madhyamaka, and ceraines approaches of the Anuttaratantra yoga, one also speaks to integrate all-achieving spontaneousness and car-liberator of “not-acting” of the non-duelle nature of “Reality”. Concepts such as not-effort, not-it, not-meditation, not-thought, etc refer all to a transcendence, a setting off-side, intrinsic duality which “poses by being opposed” any concept: to act, to have, be, it me, truth, the good…
Longchenpa (1308-1363), one of the most famous scholars and yogis Tibetans, who gathered and coordinated the lesson Nyingmapa S, speaking pécisément about Rigpa, are expressed as follows:
: “ Vis-a-vis objects without finality rises perceptions without reality. -
As soon as the conscience without attachment is released non-duellement, the mental phenomena is the symphony of the spirit.
: Those which wish to be released enter not-acting calmly it, Where the spirit remains under its natural condition without artifices. ”
In a general way, Buddhism Mahayana exposes the not-duality of the Samsara and of the Nirvāna, the form and the Vacuité, the object and the subject, etc For example, in perfect Éveil (ch.36) will soutra It, allotted to Bouddha:
-
“It has neither identity there neither difference, neither control nor release. Now you know that all the being sensitive are originally perfect Éveillés; what will samsara and nirvana are as the dream of last night. Noble wire, since they are like the dreams of last night, should know to you that will samsara and nirvana have neither advent nor suspension. neither come alley nor. In this realization there is neither profit neither loss, neither adoption nor rejection. In that which realizes there is not " efforcer" , " to leave-aller" , " to stop the pensées" or " to eliminate the passions". In this realization it on neither subject there neither object, and ultimement neither Realization nor Carried out. The nature of all the phenomena is equal and indestructible.”
Hindouism
In the Hindouisme the
Brahman, the universal heart, is fully identified with the Atman, the individual heart; it is there the prototypic teaching of the tradition Advaita Vedanta, advaïta meaning non-deux. For Advaïta, all is only one and even reality, and the distinctions between object and subject result from the ignorance of the true nature of the universe and the life, primarily identical to Brahman, which transcends time and space. In this state of ignorance, the individual remains prisoner of the illusions of the world - Maya - and does not escape the successive reincarnations, fruit of sound
Karma. It is there still a design similar, but nonidentical, with those of Buddhism and taoism.

In occident
The not-duality is not absent from occident, but it seems that it was not clearly stated such as it is. Probably because the not-duality proclaims the identity of the man and God, which is a blasphemy for the Christians, except error. And like the spiritual experiment major, mystical, leads naturally to the obliteration of all the dualities, all separations, certain mystical Christians expressed this lived not-duality in a rather clear way, such as, for example,
Jean of the Cross, and Maître Eckhart, of which here an extract of sound sermont " Beati pauperes spiritu" , which shows us clearly what the not-duality could produce in occident:
“ In this divinity where the Being is beyond God, and beyond differentiation , there, I was myself, I wanted to be myself, I knew myself, to create the man who I am. Thus I am cause of myself according to my gasoline, which are eternal, and not according to my becoming which is temporal. This is why I am nun and by there I am beyond death. According to my being nun, I was eternally, I am now and will remain eternally. What I am according to my birth will die and vanish from its temporal aspect. But in my eternal birth, all the things are born and I am cause of myself and all things. If I had wanted it, neither myself nor no thing would be, and if I were not, God would not be either. That God is God, I am the cause; if I were not, God would not be. But it is not necessary to include/understand that. ”
“ a large Master said that his opening is nobler than its emanation, and that is true. When I emanated from God, all the things said: God is. But that cannot fill me because by there I would recognize creature. On the contrary, in the opening, I am released from my own will, that of God, and all his expressions, God even. I am beyond all the creatures and am neither creature, nor God. I am much more. I am what I was, which I will remain now and forever. There I am taken of a flight which carries me beyond all the angels. In this flight, I receive such a richness that God cannot be enough for me according to all that it is as a God and with all his divine works. Indeed, the obviousness that I receive in this opening, it is that God and me naps a . There I am what I was. I do not believe nor do not decrease, being the immutable cause which makes be driven any thing. Then God does not find any more a place in the man. The man in this poverty finds what it was eternally and what it will remain forever . ”
You will note that one would believe lira the monk Zen Hakuin, evoking the spirit of not-birth, or a description of the 4th state, Turiya, tradition Hindu, or the experiment of disappearance of the ego which spontaneously know of the men of all traditions; in any event it one is lived not-duel. It is to say the universality of the experiment of the not-duality.
In philosophy
In Philosophie the only philosopher clearly nondualistic is Spinoza: the reason makes it possible to include/understand by intuition that there exists only one substance. The matter and the thought are thus only two manners of appearing of this single substance when the spirit seeks to conceive reality. All wisdom consists in understanding that all that arrives is the expression necessary of this single substance which it indistinctly calls God or nature. This comprehension generates at the same time love and freedom. to see

Heart, love and ego
The concept of not-duality thus refers to the total obliteration of the
Ego leaving room to the unconditional love of oneself, complete fusion with the whole or nothing according to the traditions. Ego, otherwise called Maya (" what is not pas"), is what pushes the human beings to occult it to Oneself timeless by the identification with the body, with the personal history. By opposition, the heart is this energy of love infinite present in any man who allows him to live his divinity and of conscientiser invisible and abstract dimensions of the world. It is in this opposition ego/heart that the duality resides. To transcend this duality gives access the Bonheur and the Self-love unconditional.
