Northern Rail

Northern Rail is a British Railway company which ensures of the local services in the North of the England since 2004. The concession was allotted to a consortium formed by NedRailways (British subsidiary company of the Nederlandse Spoorwegen, railroads of State Dutch) and Serco, an international group of the public transport. This consortium had already gained the concession of the network Merseyrail in 2003.

The Serco-NedRailways consortium was declared like the “candidate preferred” for the Northern concession by SRA the 1st luillet 2004, and with signed the convention of exploitation the October 19th.
