The northern hemisphere or boreal hemisphere is half of the sphere Ground stre which extends between the equator and the North pole. In Astronomy, this term indicates the part of the sky located at the north of the celestial equator (variation S positive).
In Political or economy, the northern hemisphere also represents the whole of the industrialized Pays (Europe, Asia, America) in opposition to the Southern hemisphere and its Pays in the process of development (mainly the Africa).
Occasionally, one can also speak about hemisphere " ouest" when one wants for example to distinguish the part of the hemisphere plunged in light of day from the hemisphere plunged in the darkness. In this case, the limits are defined compared to the line of the Terminateur.
