The norland is a bovine race Norwegian. In Norwegian, it names Sidet Trondefe Og Norlandsfe or Rorosfe .

Origin

It belongs to the branch of the Scandinavian races , downward of the cattle raised by the Vikings. It is originating in the counties of Nordland, North-Trøndelag and Sør-Trøndelag in center-north Norway.
Le delivers genealogical was open in 1952. In the Sixties, males Pie red of Norway were used. After having been in danger of disappearance, manpower in 2001 was of 1000 females including 800 registered with the register and 72 males. 95% of females reproduce in pure race. In order to preserve the future of the race, of the spangles of seed of 65 bulls were frozen in 1995.

Morphology

It wears a black black and white dress (there exists spontaneously some red magpie) with a white band which runs on the dorsal line, the tail and the belly. The sides are finely mouchetés. It does not carry horns and the mucous membranes are black. (boor, turn of the eyes)
C' is a race of small size. The cow measures 120 cm with the garrot and weighs 350 kg. The bull measures 140 cm for 650 kg.

Aptitudes

It is classified mixed with dairy prevalence. It gives a rich milk and the animals of reform are well developed.
Les cows vèlent easily and the race is well adapted to its very septentrional surface of breeding, near to the Arctic Circle.
