Norbert Callens
Norbert Callens (June 22nd 1924 with Wakken; March 12th 2005) is a Belgian racing cyclist .
Biography
- professional Cyclist between 1945 and 1952. It defends initially the colors of the team “Draper” (1945-1950) then those of the team “Terrot”.
- Norbert Callens carried one day the yellow jersey on the Tour de France, however, at the beginning of the stage, impossible to question the hand on the shirt. One of the welfare men of the Belgian cyclist forgot it with the hotel… Norbert then borrows the yellow tee-shirt of a journalist present on the line and thus carries out the stage vêtu!
- Norbert Callens is victim of a door falls in the descent of a collar in 1949. After this fall, its career is more or less finished.
