The Nogaïs , Nogay or Noghai are people of Turkish language, primarily installed in the republic of the Daghestan in the the Caucasus; their language is the nogaï or nogay. Nogaïs are often called Caucasian Mongolian. Nogaïs are the descendants of the Kipchaks which mixed with the Mongolian which had conquered their territory. They formed the Horde of Nogaï.

They draw their name from the prince Nogaï, great-grandson of Gengis Khan, which was an important personality among the Mongolian of Russia at the end of the 13th century.

The majority of Nogaïs are Moslem sunnites.

The intermediate size of the Nogaïs men is of 160cm. They generally have eyes in form of almonds. They have the flattened face. The nose is high in the face. Certains Nogaïs has the blue eyes.

Nogaïs are divided into sub-groups:

• Nogaïs Kuban, live in the north of the Mer of Azov
• Nogaïs Cedişkul, live in the north of the the Crimea
• Nogaïs Bucak, live between the Dniestr and the the Danube
• Nogaïs Camboyluk, live between Bug and the Crimea.
• Nogaïs Cedsan, live between the Dniestr and Bug.
