Node of chair
The node of chair is a recurring node in the maritime field. It makes it possible to constitute with a rope an eye with the constant perimeter. Its characteristic is that it is easy to demolish, even after having undergone a very strong traction or after a tightening due to the drying of the rope, however it cannot be untied under tension.
The name of this node comes owing to the fact that it is possible to sit down in the loop formed by the node to rise, although it is not its principal use.
Realization
To carry out this node, one often refers to the sentence: “I leave the well, I make the turn of the tree and I enter the well again. ”
