The node of Prusik is a symmetrical node autobloquant. He is invented by in 1931. __TOC

Description

This node is autobloquant symmetrical, which means that one can move it on a cord with the hand, but which it will stop a possible fall.

Attention, the use of straps such as on the photograph is disadvised because a strap supports constraints of friction badly, and has a coefficient of fusion lower than a cord. The behavior of the node is also more important with a cord than with a strap.

In the event of violent fall, it seems that there is a risk of permanent blocking requiring a knife to free it.

Uses

This node is used in alpinism for the assurage, the increase on cord, or the realization of reevings.
