Noah Webster (born the October 16th 1758, dead the April 28th, 1843) is a American lexicographer , orthographical author, reforming, political writer, and editor. He was called “the father of education and the American schooling”. Its books of orthography to blue back taught with five generations of American children how to read and write, and in the United States, its name became synonymous with “dictionary”, particularly for the dictionary Merriam-Webster which was published for the first time in 1828 under the name An American Dictionary off the English Language (an American dictionary of the English language).

Biography

Noah Webster was born the October 16th 1758, with West Hartford, in the Connecticut in a family established in the North-East. His/her father was a farmer and Tisserand. The brothers of Noah were Charles and Abraham, his sisters, Mercy and Jerusha. His/her father was downward of the governor of Connecticut, John Webster; his/her mother downward of the governor William Bradford of the colony of Plymouth.

At the 16 years age, it goes to the Université of Yale, the only one of Connecticut. Its years with Yale coincided with the war of independence, because of shortages of food, much of its courses took place with Glastonbury. During the war, Iil been useful in the militia of Connecticut.

It obtained its diploma of Yale in 1778. Incompetent to treat to a school of right, it gave courses to Glastonbury and West Hartford. He gained his diploma of right in 1781 but never worked in this field. It tried in the place to teach, flux of very small schools which hardly developed.
