No one

NO ONE is a particular value present in many data-processing languages. It means that pointer does not have a target or that a Variable does not have a value. The concept of value or NULL pointer is in particular present in the languages C and C++ (as in several languages to which syntax is close like the JavaScript or it).

According to the languages, NO ONE is written: NO ONE , No one or no one . In Python, the equivalent of NO ONE is “ None ”.

C and C++

NO ONE is defined in the file of heading stddef.h of the standard Bibliothèque of C and has as a binary value 0.

Here an example of code showing the initialization of a pointer to NO ONE, before being used to store the address of a variable: int has = 2; //Declaration of the variable has of int type (whole) and initialized with 2 int * p = NO ONE; //Declaration of a pointer on a int which is worth NULL p = &a; the address of has is affected with the pointer p *p = 5; Déréférenciation of p, to assign 5 to the variable a

In these languages, NO ONE also indicates the end of a Character string.

UNIX

In the systems UNIX, /dev/null is a non-standard file which immediately destroys all the data which are sent to him. For this reason, this file is called the “black hole” or the “dustbin”.

Microsoft Windows

In the operating systems of Microsoft starting from Windows 2000, NO ONE is a non-standard file which immediately destroys all the data which are sent to him.
