No Logo: The tyranny of the marks , one of the books of reference of the Altermondialisme writes by the journalist Canadian Naomi Klein and left in January 2000.
In the first part, this book describes the abuses made by large the marks on the spot of manufacture, particularly the workshops of clothing (like Nike, Adidas, etc) but also of oil companies like Shell or Total. Moreover, this book examines the methods which the marks use to be introduced into the daily life of the Consommateur S.
The second part of the book (the fourth chapter Zero logo ) is a description of the forms of resistance which are set up vis-a-vis the invasion of public space by the multinationals and vis-a-vis the abuses made on the work places. Naomi Klein retranscribes the victories of this movement around three examples very mediatized in the end of the year 90 : engagements against Nike, about the business of the workshops of slaves and the work of children, those against Shell and the abuses made in Nigeria against the communities autochtones, as well as the engagements against McDonald's.
In a more general way, Naomi Klein tries in this book to draw up an assessment on the turning which the liberal internationalization takes, on the growing capacity of the Multinationale S, and consequently of the resistance movement to these large companies.
Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood of the group rock'n'roll Radiohead affirmed that this book had particularly influenced them during the recording of the album Kid has, they even thought of calling this album No Logo .
