No5el Paymal Lerebours
No5el Marie Paymal Lerebours , born with Paris the February 16th 1807 and dead the July 24th 1873, is a optician and daguerreotypist French.
He is born from unknown father. His/her mother, dressmaker, work then in Paris. It Marie with the optician Jean Lerebours who adopts the child in 1836. With died of his father, No5el Paymal takes again the shop of optics installed place of the Pont-Neuf and joins Marc Secrétan in 1845. While they produce very powerful lenses and glasses for the astronomical observatories, Lerebours is also interested in the years 1840-1850 in the practice of the Daguerréotype, that he seeks to improve.
It announces in a note of 1842, that in only two months it carried out 1500 portraits. Its workshop quickly becomes one of the major centers of meeting and innovation of the Parisian daguerréotypie. He works in particular with Hippolyte Fizeau and Marc Antoine Gaudin, with which he affirms to have obtained catches of sight of a tenth of a second, exceptional weather for the time. The first instantaneous ones on plate are then tested, thanks to the processes of hypersensitizing of Fizeau. Since its workshop were also of superb sights panoramic daguerreotypes of the the Seine, preserved today at the Musée Carnavalet.
