No5el Coypel (1628 - 1707) was a painter decorator French of the traditional school , born and died in Paris.

Member of the royal Academy of painting and sculpture in 1663. It becomes professor in there 1664. He exerts the position of director of the Académie from France to Rome of 1673 with 1675.
He takes part in the decoration of the Château of Versailles under the direction of Charles Le Brun, of the Parliament of Rennes, the Tuileries and the Invalides (of 1700 with 1707).
Its two sons Antoine and No5el Nicolas, as its grandson Charles Antoine was also painters.
