Nissan Stadium

The Nissan Stadium (in Japanese 日産スタジアム, Nissan Sutajiamu ), formerly known like International Stadium Yokohama (横浜国際総合競技場, Yokohama Kokusai Sōgō Kyōgi-jō ) is a Football stadium Japanese located at Yokohama in the Préfecture of Kanagawa, with the Japan.

It shelters today the club of Yokohama F. Marinos, which evolves/moves in the J. League. Its capacity is of 72.327 places (34 371 in the lower belt, 37.956 in the higher belt), which makes of it the greatest stage of the Japan.

History

The stage was begun in January 1994 and was inaugurated in March 1998 for 60.3 billion Yen at the time of a friendly international match which saw the Japanese being imposed (2-1) upon the traditional rivals South-Koreans. The first match of J. League which was held there balanced by a victory (2-0) Marinos vis-a-vis the Verdy Kawasaki.

It also accommodated four matches Football world cup of 2002, and in particular the final which saw the Brésil crowned for the fifth time of its history, vis-a-vis the Germany (2-0, doubled Ronaldo) the June 30th 2002.

Victim of the " naming" very present in the Asian countries, the stage, whose maintenance costs are paid during five years by the automobile mark Nissan, saw famous Nissan Stadium on March 1st 2005. The stage is equipped with 2 video giant screens measuring 19 X 9 meters.
