Nissan Be-1, CAM, S-cargo liner and Barber

At the dawn of the years 1990, Nissan created series limited of vehicles to the shifted style: the BE-1 , CAM , S-cargo liner and Barber .

These four cars were produced between 1985 and 1991. They are based on a platform of March/Micra. Their engine is one 987 Cm3 (turbocompressé on the Barber). They will be sold only in Japan. It is possible to currently find some in the United Kingdom. Each model is equipped with an instrument panel specific and matched with the appearance of the cars. there will be successively:

  • the BE-1: truck two doors 4 places, modern interpretation of the Mini Austin .

  • CAM: truck two doors 4 places, inspired by the Renault 4 and other cars of the Fifties and Sixties.
  • the S-cargo liner: small van 2 doors 2 places whose roundnesses point out the Citroen 2CV.
  • the Barber: convertible half-compartment two places, inspired by the Panhard Junior of 1951. The latter was produced with 20.000 specimens and was allotted by three drawing lots in 1991.

These four cars are representative of the financial good health of Japanese auto industry at the end of the Eighties, whereas the speculative bubble yet had not burst and had not caused the financial crisis of the country.
