History of the group

Birth of the group

The origins of the Nirvana group were at Aberdeen in the State of Washington towards 1985 pennies the first name of Fecal Matter . Its first members are Kurt Cobain (Guitare and voice), Dale Crover (also Batteur of the Melvins, here with the low ) and Greg Hokanson with the battery. They record a demonstration end 1985. Bleach

Nevermind

Two years after Bleach leaves the second album Nirvana: Nevermind , with the sound metamorphosed by a production plus pop-rock'n'roll (that Kurt Cobain affirmed not to have wanted) of Butch Vig. End of the group

The death of Kurt Cobain the April 5th 1994 will put an end to the Nirvana adventure. Since the disappearance of the group the rumor of the exit of a “Nirvana Box” had been maintained: the fans awaited a box gathering the news of Nirvana but whose publication were slowed down by conflicts between the former members of the group and Courtney Love, the widow of the singer. To note for those which would not have had time to get this box that a best-of joining together some titles of this box (chosen by Frances Bean Cobain, the girl of the couple Kurt Cobain-Courtney Love) left in 2005; Sliver: The Best Off The Box . This CD includes also three titles which were hitherto new: Spank Thru which is the first title available of Fecal Matter (cf Naissance of the group), a version of the Sappy title recorded in 1990 as well as a version of As Ace You Are recorded in 1991. Then in 2006 Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic added the images in a concert to Amsterdam with those of cassette VHS already left, Live! Tonight! Sold! Out! and published the whole on DVD for the first time.

After Nirvana

After the separation of Nirvana, Dave Grohl will form the group Foo Fighters, where it will hold the role of singer-guitarist, and will off multiply collaborations with other groups such as the battery of the Queens The Stone Age, a clip with the group of the actor Jack Black (present in the clip of “ learn to fly ” of Foo Fighters) or a duet with Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead, within the framework of the side-project Métal of Dave: Probot.
