Ninurta

Ninurta is a warlike divinity of mythology sumérienne. He is the god of the fertility, the irrigation, the ploughing and the wind of the south. Wire of Enlil and Ninlil, his/her brother is Nergal and his wife is Gula. Ninurta is often represented holding an arc and an arrow. It has a bludgeon called Sharur (or Sarur) which is endowed with word. The center of its worship was located at Nippur. Niurta is probably a late form of Ningirsu with which it is often confused and whose worship was returned to Girsu (Lagash).
