Nikolaï Kirtov

Nikolaï Naumovitch Kirtov was a pilot of Soviet attack of the Second world war, holder of the Ordre of Héros of the Soviet Union.

Career

Born the December 6th 1920 in Marinovka, in the district of Nikolaïev, it started by working as workman with the factory " Revolution of Octobre" with Odessa, learned how to control dice 1938 in the Aéroclub of the same city and joined the Red Army in 1939. In 1943 it was patented pilot with the military college of the Air of Tambov.

Transferred to the face, with the 140.GuShAP (= regiment of aviation of attack of the Guard), just in time to take share with the Battle of Koursk, during which it destroyed its 1e panzer . In 1944, it fought in Poland, on the face of the the Vistula and of October 1944 to May 1945, named starshii leitenant (= lieutenant), it ordered a Escadrille 143.GuShAP . It took an active part in the Bataille of Berlin ( April - May 1945), thus carrying out 2 missions, the April 24th and destroying 4 German batteries.

It took part, the June 24th 1945, with Large the Parade of the Victoire which was held on the Red Place of Moscow.

At the conclusion of the conflict, it remained in the army, passing to its patent 'staff in 1951 and becoming officer with the office of the plans of the general staff of the combined forces . He took his retirement in 1976 like Général.
