The Nikkatsu (日活株式会社, Nikkatsu kabushikigaisha ) is one of the oldest Japanese companies of production films and telefilms.

Some famous realizers worked for or were produced by Nikkatsu: Akira Kurosawa began its career as assistant there realizer in the years 1930, films of Shohei Imamura, Seijun Suzuki and Masahiro Makino was produced there in years 1950 and 1960.

Starting from the end of the year 1950, Nikkatsu specialized in films of general publics kind: Chambara eiga (films of wrap and of sword), Yakuza eiga (films of Yakuza ) and especially Pinku eiga , erotic cinema, a kind which Nikkatsu re-elected in Romance porn as from the years 1970.
