Nikaya

Nikaya , term of origin Faded, indicates the sections of the canonical corpora of Sutta S Hinayana, whose only complete example nowadays is the Sutta Pitaka of the gun faded. The practitioners of the Mahayana often use agama like synonym of nikaya , although in any rigor the agamas include only part of the Sutta Pitaka .

In the current Theravada, it is also an honorary term to designate a sect, an order or a group of monks.

The term Buddhism nikaya indicates according to the context old Buddhism or Buddhism hinayana.
