Louis Marc Antoine de Noailles , Viscount of Noailles, is a politician and military French, born in Paris the April 17th 1756 and died in Havana the January 9th 1804.
Family
Wire junior by Philippe de Noailles (1715 - 1794), Duke of Mouchy, and the duchess born Anne Claudine Louise d' Arpajon (1729 - 1794), it marries his/her cousin Anne Jeanne Baptiste Pauline Adrienne Louise Catherine Dominique de Noailles (1758 - 1794), girl of Jean Louis Paul François de Noailles, Duc of Noailles, and the duchess born Anne Louise Henriette d' Aguesseau.They have four children:
- Louis Joseph Alexis de Noailles (1783 - 1835), count de Noailles;
- Alfred Louis Dominique Vincent of Paul de Noailles (1784 - 1812), Viscount of Noailles;
- Adelaide Marie Euphémie Cecile de Noailles (1790 - 1870) which marries (1811) Armand Maximilien François Olivier of Saint-Georges, marquis de Vérac († 1858).
Biography
According to the family tradition, it chooses the military career and follows his brother-in-law, Fayette, engaged in 1779 in the Guerre of independence of the United States of America. At the sides of Rochambeau, it regulates the capitulation of Yorktown.Member of the Parliament of notable then elected appointed to the General states of 1789 by the bailliage of Nemours, it is won over to the novel ideas and plays a big role in the abolition of the privileges at the time of the night of August 4th, 1789, announcing himself by his enthusiasm.
At the time of the return of the royal family after the escape missed from the June 20th and 21st 1791, it saves accuracy Marie-Antoinette of crowd. In December 1802, it is put at the service of Rochambeau which fights against the revolted blacks of All Saints' day Louverture with Saint-Domingue. When it goes to the British, on November 30th 1803, Noailles refuses to capitulate and takes on board its soldiers and part of the inhabitants of the Mole-Saint-Nicolas on the seven buildings which wet in the port. Nuitamment, it crosses the enemy lines and puts veil towards Cuba. But the Goélette on which it is, the Coursier , meets by chance the British corvette Hazard . Not being able to escape to him, it chooses to face it at the fallen night, on January 1st 1804. It assembles the first to the boarding to the head of about thirty pomegranate S and seizes the vessel which it brings back to Havana. But he dies of the continuations of the wounds received at the time of the combat. Its name is registered on the Triumphal arch of the Star.
