Night flight is a Romance of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry published in December 1930.

Fabien, pilot, faces a violent one Orage in the sky of Argentine. In Buenos Aires, River, its owner, of his office meditates. The woman of Fabien is very anxious on the state of her husband.

Behind a painting of the organization of the Air-mail , the work treats problems of the hero for whom any action belongs to the Absolu. The heroic man power is to be erased in front of this absolute. But the man gives value to humanity by the effects of his action. Vis-a-vis the Loneliness, he assumes this significance.

The novel is Prémonitoire fine tragedy of Antoine at the time of a reconnaissance mission towards the end of the Second world war.

The book, at its exit, was prefaced by André Gide and was a considerable success (the sale of Night flight is estimated today at 6 million specimens in the world). Sworn Femina decreed their price in 1931 with this major work. Saint-Exupéry had just been thirty years old.
