Niels Wilhelm Gade is a Compositeur Danish, born the February 22nd 1817 with Copenhagen and dead the December 21st 1890 in this same city.
With the assistance of a purse of voyage of the Danish government, it goes to Leipzig in order to teach there and to assist Mendelssohn with the desk of direction. He becomes the friend of this last as of Robert Schumann which sees in him a “exceptional type-setter”.
At the end of the years 1840, it goes back to Denmark in order to ensure it the direction of the musical Company of Copenhagen - until its death fifty years later. For this period, it creates a new orchestra and a new chorus while working like Organiste. He encourages the young Scandinavian contemporary type-setters, such Edvard Grieg.
He married the girl of the Danish type-setter Johann Peter Emilius Hartmann.
