The Highlands (literally “highlands”, A' Ghaidhealtachd in Scottish) are an area Montagne uses located at the north and the west of the frontier fault of Highlands which crosses Scotland of Arran until Stonehaven.

The deep valleys (the glens ) were worked by the Glacier S which also cut out the west coast in Fjord S similar to those of Norway. By places the impermeable ground is Marécage ux and covered of Tourbière S. a flora and a particular fauna developed in this medium very wet and swept by the cold winds. The cliffs escarpées by place shelter all kinds of Oiseau X marine.
Inverness is the principal city of the area, located at the crossroads of the Calédonien channel and the railway which goes up towards north, towards Thurso and Wick.
Many feudal castles, like here Girnigoe and Sinclair Castles fixed on their cliff, recall resistance as the Scot opposed to the invaders come as well from Scandinavia as of England.
The area gave its name to the bovine Race Highland.
Administrative area
Highland is also the name of an administrative area located in Highlands, but less wide.
