Nicole Rieu

Nicole Rieu is a Chanteuse (auteure, compositrice, interpret and director) born in 1949 with Chaumont, in France.

Biography

Nicole Rieu begins initially in a group from teenagers called " Spits". A meeting with Lucien Morisse, then director of Europe 1 and Discs AZ will seal its destiny. This one, filled with enthusiasm by the young singer during a hearing, proposes at once to him a contract discographic at Disques AZ and dissuades his/her parents to let to him continue its studies. It records its first 45 turns with Jean Musy. As of 1969 with its own compositions (" If the birds could parler" , " Espagne" , etc), it sings in Olympia of Paris in first part of Daniel Guichard, of Joe Dassin, Serge LAMA, Enrico Macias and Salvatore Adamo. It is located by Barclay in 1973 at which her place is a very great success with the song " I suis" , enormous tube on the radiophonic waves. As of 1975, successes on discs will accumulate (" My house at the edge of the eau" , " I envole" , " In courant" , " The immigrant" , " Life that danse" , " They left the ville" , " A little sun on my pelouse" , " Nicole you are folle" , " He would have liked to see the mer" , " Gospel" , etc) and it is Nicole Rieu who represents the France in 1975 with the contest Eurovision with the song " And hello with you the artiste" , that she interprets in six languages (French, English, German, Italian, Spanish and Japanese). It makes many concerts in Europe and goes to the Quebec in 1976 for the launching of its album " The sky it is ici" like for a first round, then in 1977 for the recording of a complete album under the supervision of the Québécois type-setter goes back there Paul Baillargeon (the album " If you me appelles"). It gains then the Grand Prix of the song of the Gold Hexagon in 1979 with its song fetish " The drop of eau" , whose air is taken again large Irish standard " The foggy dew". Nicole publishes the same year the album " The drop of eau" who, in addition to this traditional, contains the songs " First cry of femme" , " Fifteen years hier" and " The men heureux". Two years later, in 1981, after a stay of almost ten years at Barclay, the singer records the album " Zut" at RCA Victor and takes then a downtime.

Continuing thereafter to engrave albums in a way sporadic (in which a disc of Christmas and some albums for children) and to be still some successes (" All my vie" in 1986, " Right of amour" in 1987, " Nomade" in 1993…), Nicole Rieu prefers by far to leave in round to the four corners the francophonie in order to meet her public. Thus after a long round in France in 1994, it gives concerts to Montreal, with the Theater the Gesù, in June 1995. In love with the French language, it does not cease writing albums of a great quality, always speaking about peace and universal love (" Go ahead " in 1998, " Ah ah" in 2001…) and it takes part has many musical comedies (" The Camargue rouge" presented to the Festival of Avignon, " The Marie-Madeleine"). It carries out a return on disc in 2007 with the acoustic album " In voix" on which it signs itself of new titles (of which " The muse" and " I want that one aime") and still remade many concerts, of which several evenings with the Theater of the Fox with Paris (from March 13rd to 24th 2007). It gives also workshops and training courses of songs a little everywhere in France, under a title which represents the artist well: I sing, therefore I am . In July 2007, to the Black Oak in Avignon, it presents with the singer Loumy a musical production entitled " The camion". If Nicole Rieu likes to write and compose itself her own songs, it is not rare on the other hand that she calls upon certain great names of the French song in order to enrich her repertory. Thus in his discography, one finds there the names of Eddy Marnay (" The sky it is ici" , " To know to you aimer"), Claude Lemesle (" Life that danse" , " The adventure it is the amour"), Jacques Yvart (" My house at the edge of the eau"), Serge often Salted (at the sides of Nicole itself: " The child who viendra" , " Naissance" , " It is not a problème" , etc), the tandem Pierre Grosz and Paul Baillargeon (" He would have liked to see the mer" , " The girl of Saint-Hilaire" , etc), the Spanish poet Federico García Lorca (" The garden under the pluie"), the French poet Louis Aragon (" Harms of lumière"), Jannick Signal (" I am frustrée") and Pierre Delanoë (" And hello with you the artiste" , " In courant"). She even takes again, with her way, the song " All cries S.O.S." of his/her friend Daniel Balavoine as well as the great success of legendary the Beatles, John Lennon and Paul McCartney, entitled " Let it be".

Nicole Rieu also works with other artists. Starting from 1975, it takes part in many television programs in which it often sings in duet with other artists of reputation. She sings in particular with Charles Aznavour (" Savoir" is needed; in 1975), with Daniel Guichard (" Song for Anna" in 1976), with Michel Fugain and his Company (" Nicole you are folle" in 1978), then with Sacha Distel and Half Roussos… In 1977 and 1979, it signs several texts for the two albums of the singer and musician Serge Sala, then later it writes for Isabelle Aubret (" Woman like moi" in 1989). She also sings in duet with Daniel Facérias (" Where is it? " and " Girls of Jérusalem" in 1987) and takes part vocally in its album " Let make the lumière" in 1988. Having a splendid voice, it is one of the great talents of the French song.
