Nicole Claveloux
Nicole Claveloux (born on June 23rd 1940 with Saint-Etienne) is a French Illustratrice and Dessinatrice .
Life and work
After studies with Beautiful arts of Saint-Etienne, it is with Etienne Delessert and Philippe Corentin one of the first Frenchwomen to be worked for the editor Harlin Quist: the extravagant Voyage of Hugo Brisefer/The Secret Journey off Hugo the Brat (1967), text of François Ruy-Vidal; The Bright Red Porcupine (1968), text of Tony Hollow; the Forest of the lilacs/Forest off Lilacs (1969), of the Countess of Ségur; The Teletrips off Alala (1970), text of Guy Monreal; …The influence of the German Heinz Edelman (draftsman of cartoon film Yellow Submarine ) is notable through elegant graphics and the gradations colors diluted. Its use of the prospect and the incrustations in the image fits completely in the esthetics of the years 1960.
It creates Grabote for Okapi in 1973 then acid Cactus and Melted butter , of the disrespectful characters and grimaçants in a world in perpetual transformation.
In the years 1970, far from confining itself with the illustration of youth, it takes part in the reviews for adults Métal howling , rather SF, and Ah! Chick , around a female team.
