Nicolas Wacker
Nicolas Wacker (1897 - Kiev, 1987) was a Russian painter .
Born in Ukraine, with Kiev in 1897, raised in the agricultural domain of the Dolgorouki family whose her father was intendant, Nicolas Wacker makes his primary and secondary studies with Pétrograd. Reformed for health reasons, it crosses with difficulty the years of war and revolution. In 1922 the Wacker family gains the Germany in which was originating the paternal branch since the beginning in the XIXe century. During 4 years Wacker attends the Academy of the Beautiful-Art of Berlin and Humboldt faculty where he studies philosophy.
In 1926, Nicolas Wacker comes in France with his/her friend painter Charlotte Henschel. He attends initially the academy André Lhote, then, starting from 1929 the Académie Ranson where he becomes the pupil, the massier and the friend of Bissière. Charged with preparing decorations and models for the pupils, it paints itself approximately 300 works, carries out hundreds of sketch in a figurative style and inspiration cubist. It exposes to the Living room of Fall in 1927 and 1928, in the Ranson academy in 1935, takes part in 1938 and 1939 with the collective exposures, with Bertholle, Moal, Etienne Martin and Stahly, of the group Témoignage animated by Marcel Michaud, contributes to the decoration of rooms of the Palate of Discovered like to decoration, with Bertholle, Moal and Zelman, of the house of the wines for the exposure of New York in 1939.
During the twelve years of its work to the Ranson Academy, it ties sharp and durable friendships with Moal, Stahly, Manessier, Bertholle, Zelman and especially Etienne Martin to which it becomes near close in his workshop to the Rue to Pot-of-Iron in Paris. Much testified to its extraordinary knowledge technique to the painting from which it makes profit friendly and pupils as it will confirm it later in its courses of technique of painting to the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of the fine arts and in the work which it publishes in the editions Allia.
Interned during the war as foreign worker (it preserved as identity paper only the German passport which enabled him to leave the Russia in 1922), it must wait to be able to be the proof of its quality of Russian to be finally released in October 1942. Patient, deeply marked by these years of internment, it finds refuge at Roger Bissière in the Lot where its been engaged Madeleine joined it whom it marries in 1943. The couple settles with the Saggers not far from Bissière, devoting all its energy to its subsistence and the installation of the house which they acquire soon.
Victim of serious access tuberculous, Nicolas passes one year with sanatorium of Montfaucon, where the return to the life brings back it to painting in an abstract style which must much, according to its clean dires, with the influence of his/her friend Hans Reichel and of Paul Klee.
The School of the Art schools of Paris, where he teaches ten years starting from 1969, devotes a retrospective exposure in 1987 to him. He dies shortly after. Two posthumous exposures are devoted to him in 1995 to Montgeron, in 2001 with Rambouillet.
