Nicolas Potier of Novion (1618 - September 1st 1693) is a French politician.

Adversary of Mazarin, it is President with mortar in 1645, then first president of the Parlement of Paris in 1678. Having made some forgeries in writing, it are constrained to resign of this station in 1689. He is elected with the French Academy in 1681, without to have produced any work. According to the Academy, its speech of reception is considered to be “absolutely ridiculous” and its case “is one of the coarsest errors of the Academy. ”

Potter of Novon was also clerk of the Ordre of the Holy Spirit in 1656 and lord of the manor of Neauphle of 1682 with 1693.
