Nicolas Irenee Ruinart
Nicolas Irenee Ruinart (born in 1697 - deceased in 1769) Clothier and founder of the first wine house of champagne.
Nicolas Irenee Ruinart is the nephew of Dom Thierry Ruinart which taught him the trade secrets from champagne. When the latter dies in 1709, Nicolas Ruinart wants to prolong the work of his uncle and it is on September 1st, 1729 that it founds in Epernay the first wine from champagne house: the Ruinart house. Little before its death, it yields the house to his/her Claude son.
This last will transfer the country cottage to Rheims.
