Nicolas Ier of Montenegro
Nicolas Ier Petrović Njegoš (Serb: КраљНикола I ПетровићЊегош ) (Njeguši October 7th 1841 - Bindweeds, Cape d' Antibes, France March 2nd 1921 with 20:00), prince then king of the Montenegro (August 13rd 1860 -1918). He became king the August 28th 1910 and was deposed of his title the December 11th 1918. (dates according to the Gregorian Calendar)
Wire of the Prince Mirko and Anastasia Martinovna, it was an outstanding figure of the Dynastie Petrović-Njegoš. He studied with the Louis-the-Large Lycée with Paris. He was called the " Father-in-law of Europe " , having married several of his/her children to heirs to European big families. He was in particular appreciated by the people Montenegrin for the comfort which he brought to the soldiers engaged on the face against the army Austro-Hungarian during the First World War.
In 1860, it married Milena Vukotic (1847 - 1923). From this union were born:
- Zorka of Montenegro (1864 - 1890), in 1883, it married Pierre Ier of Serbia.
- Militza of Montenegro (1866 - 1951), in 1889, it marries the large-duke of Russia Peter Nicolaïévitch
- Anastasia of Montenegro (1867 - 1935), in 1889, it marries Georges de Leuchtenberg (death in 1912), which it will divorce in 1906. In 1907, it married the large-duke of Russia Nicolaï Nicolaïevitch
- Maritza of Montenegro (1869 - 1885)
- Danilo II Aleksander Petrović-Njegoš (1871 - 1939)
- Helene of Montenegro (January 8th 1873 - November 28th 1952), then queen of Italy, empress of Ethiopia and queen of Albania.
- Anne (1874 - 1971), which enters the Dynastie of Hesse by its marriage with François de Mountbatten (death in 1924)
- Sophie, born and died in 1876
- Mirko (1879 - 1918), father of Michel of Montenegro and grandfather of Nicolas of Montenegro, current heir
- Xenia (1881 - 1960)
- Vera (1887 - 1927)
- Pierre (1889 - 1932)
