Nicolas IV (Girolamo Masci), born with Lisciano towards 1230, 189e pope, of 1288 with 1292. In the Prophecy of Saint Malachie, it is known under the currency “ Picus inter escas ”.
It was named following a Conclave which lasted 12 months, which makes the fourth longer of it to be held. Franciscain known under the name of Jerome d' Ascoli, he had been general minister of his Kind. During its pontificate, it crowned Charles II of Anjou as a king of Sicily in 1289.
Its pontificate will have made in all four years, one month and half.
