In 1709, Madeleine Isidore de Guéribalde alienated Bruels in favor of Nicolas-Jerome Herlaut, Trésorier General of the Gardes-Françaises and the Swiss Gardes (France). This old man who had bought this seigniory of living of his son, bequeathed it after the death of this last to Michel Chamillart, knight, marquis de Cany, his nephew . The seigniory of Bruels will be considered in 1746 at 133.299 books and sold 748.864 books like national good.

Nicolas-Jerome Herlaut tests on April 10th, 1710 and dies on Tuesday, May 12, 1716 in Paris. Philippe de Courcillon de Dangeau, in its Newspaper written: Arlot (sic), treasurer of the regiment of the guards, died suddenly. One found his will, by which it gives to Madam de Chamillart her house in the place of Vendôme which beautiful, and is made of Mister de Cany his sole legatee. He leaves a considerable good; but like it étoit prone to the room of justice, that will be able to decrease much the legacy which it makes with Mister de Cany.

Enriched thanks to Michel Chamillart, it makes indeed gift with the woman of its guard, Elisabeth-Therese the Wrong way (1657-1731), of the hotel built in 1703, Place Vendôme and with the former minister for the tables and the ices which are inside.

It gives to the Beaunier young lady Navy a small house, street of the Rope manufacture, as well as a pension of 1.200 books to be taken on the incomes of the hotel given to Elisabeth-Therese the Wrong way. January 20th, 1717, Michel Chamillart repurchases and the garden contiguous to this young lady and promises 36.000 books to him which it completes to pour in 1719.

Nicolas-Jerome Herlaut made of Michel II Chamillart, marquis de Cany, wire of his/her friend, his sole legatee, therefore the heir inter alia ground to Bruels, in Orléanais, and of the sale of its load of general Treasurer of the guards.

He indicates Michel Chamillart like executor. The death of his/her son two months after that of Herlaut, on July 23rd 1716 and of the unforeseen difficulties push the minister, then disgraced, to separate from most of this heritage.

An inventory after death is drawn up by the police chiefs of the Room of the accounts probably within the framework of the room of justice established by an edict of previous March.

April 2nd, 1717, an estimate is made by Jean-Baptiste Loir and Denis Gobin of repairs to be made in a house, places Louis-the-Large, really seized on the succession of late Nicolas-Jerome Herlaut, and where remains the marchioness of Parabère, at the request of the sior Jannin of Saint-Germain, legal farmer. Actually in the inventory after death it appears that the marchioness of Parabère paid 126.000 books the unit, i.e. the hotel of the Vendôme place and the contiguous house.

This secret agreement makes it possible Michel Chamillart to be able to inherit in spite of the doubtful financial position Nicolas-Jerome Herlaut to his death.
