Nickle silver-the Church is a common French, located in the department of the Two-Sevres and the area Poitou-Charentes.
This commune is divided between the cantons of Nickle silver-the-Valleys and Thouars-2nd-canton.

Geography

History

  • Under the Old Mode, the parish of Argenton the two churches depended on the Sénéchaussée of Saumur.
The village concerned however at the same time the steps of Anjou and the Poitou.

Called Argentum at the time Gallo-Roman, the commune appears in the files for the first time under the name of Nickle silver-the-two-Churches.

With the French revolution it was also named Nickle silver-the-two-Rivers bus it is crossed by the Argenton and the Thouet.

Nickle silver the Church was built during the centuries on a calcareous plain in which these two rivers dug deep valleys.
