Nick Undermines and the Bad Seeds

Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds is a group of Rock/Post-punk from which the members come from various countries. The group was founded in 1984 by two ex-members of the group Australia N The Birthday Party: the Auteur-compositeur-interprète Nick Undermines and the multi-instrumentalist Mick Harvey. The first formation of the group includes/understands moreover the German Guitariste of the group of industrial rock'n'roll Einstürzende Neubauten, Blixa Bargeld, the ex- Bassiste English of Magazine, Barry Adamson, and the guitarist Australia N Hugo Race. Anita Lane also takes part, in particular by writing the words of some songs. Such as it is, the group records its first album, left in 1984: From Her To Eternity .

To note that the Australian Bass player of The Birthday Party, Tracy Pew, also played with the group, at the time of its first Australian round.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds appear in the film the Wings of the desire of Wim Wenders, left in 1987.

Composition of the group

Four pillars

In addition to the remaining founding members, the group is composed musicians of talent, personally selected by Nick Cave, who had, according to the cases, a more or less important influence on the sonority of the group, and musicians of session. Starting from the Years 1990, Nick Cave carries out rounds in “solo”, in addition to its concerts with the Bad Seeds. The trio with which Nick Cave turns in 2006 includes three members of Bad Seeds: Martyn P. Casey, Jim Sclavunos and Warren Elect (called the Minis-Seeds ).

Nationalities

The leader of the group, Nick Hollow, left Melbourne in Australia for London in 1980. Since the formation of Bad Seeds in 1984, he lived with Berlin, São Paulo, London and Brighton (the United Kingdom).
