History

First mention of the village, Bruxa, date of 661. In 800, the Beetle exists as a parish. With the Middle Ages, the village depends on the seigniory of the Valley of City. In 1633, the village is occupied by the Swedes; them to see leaving, Saâles and Bruche offer 400 guilders, paid entirely by Saâles, Bruche never not refunding its share. From 1650 and until about 1730, of the Swiss mennonites settle in the village, especially in Hang; the community mennonite of Borough-Beetle quickly becomes one of most important of Alsace. The glassmaking of Hang, built in 1723, is exploited until 1770. From 1850, the population decreases constantly, under the effect of the successive wars, which lead the inhabitants to flee in France, and of the decline of the textile industry, which causes important exoduses.
