Nichapur , Nishapur or Neishabur
نيشابور|neyšābūr
is one of the main cities of the area of the Khorassan, in Iran.
History
- It is built by the Sassanides: Shapur Ier founds it, Shapur II rebuilds it, from where its name of Nev-Shabur.
- It one was évêché nestorien in Ve S.
- Occupée by the Arab in 651. The revolts are pacified only in 692.
- In 901, it fall to the hands from the Samanides.

- Capital of the Seldjoukides in 1037.

Nichapur, was one of the most prosperous cities of the Moslem East until the Mongolian time.
Nichapur preserves an economic importance because of its mines of turquoise and its agriculture (
Fruit S, Coton, Céréale S).
