Niccolò di Pietro Gerini

Niccolò di Pietro Gerini (~1368 - Florence, ~1415) is an important painter of the strongly impregnated school florentine of the style of Giotto, in the tradition of Andrea Orcagna and Taddeo Gaddi.

Of his known works, one notes the decoration of the sacristy of the basilica of Santa Croce with Florence with Scènes of the life of Christ (approximately 1380), while in 1386, it paints the frescos of the Loggia del Bigallo.

Between 1391 and 1392, he works with Prato where he paints the frescos of the Palazzo Datini and those of the chapter house of the Cappella Migliorati of the church of San Francesco with his/her son Lorenzo and Agnolo Gaddi. Then it paints the frescos of the chapter house of the church San Francesco of Pisa.

In 1397, it paints the Battesimo dei Santi Pietro E Paolo maintaining with the National Gallery of London.

Many of its works which covered many churches of Florence and the area, were found only at the 20th century.
