Nicéphore Lessard
Nicéphore Lessard (Saint-Guillaume, January 8th, 1879 - December 13rd, 1951) is a catholic priest Québécois. He is the founder of the municipality of Saint-Nicéphore.
Wire of Antoine Lessard and Alice Villandré, it is ordered priest on April 8th, 1906 with the Séminaire of Nicolet. marking the beginning of a 45 years career with the service of the communities of the Center-of-Quebec.
He is successively vicar with Holy-Gertrude, from April 18th, 1906 to February 6th, 1907; with Holy-Sophie, from February 6th, 1907 to August 19th, 1908; with Saint-François-of-Lake, from August 19th, 1908 to September 10th, 1911; with Saint-Bonaventure, from September 10th, 1911 to October 25th, 1911; then becomes second vicar with Drummondville with the Saint-Frederic church and chaplain of the Frères of Charity, from October 25th, 1911 to July 20th, 1915.
It founds the municipality of Saint-Nicéphore in 1916 and becomes the first priest of the place, on January 6th, 1917. It will leave this station on March 19th, 1923, because of health issues.
Nicéphore Lessard is occupied to build the first Hospital Holy-Cross of Drummondville, on March 20th, 1923 at October 7th, 1925. Today, this place became the Saint-Paul Hearth.
Named cleaned Wickham, from January 7th, 1927 to October 6th, 1942, for withdrawing itself thereafter in its house with Drummondville. It finishes archdeacon and episcopal visitor for the matrimonial files of August 19th, 1944 until its death, at the hospital Holy-Cross, on December 13rd, 1951. It was 72 years old.
