Nguyễn Phúc Nguyên

Nguyễn Phúc Nguyên , died in 1635 is a Vietnamese dignitary , member of the dynasty of the Nguyễn.

It succeeds his father at the 51 years age. It is the first of Nguyễn to carry the first name “Phúc” which means happiness. Whereas his/her mother was pregnant, she saw in dream a genius bringing a paper to him carrying the Phúc character. She questioned her advisers and confidantes on this dream, and all indicated their positive interpretation of the dream to him, she should give rise to a son and call it, in accordance with the dream, Phúc. It decided to line up with the general opinion, but estimated that if it called her Phúc son, him only would enjoy happiness.
