The prince Nguyễn Phúc Bảo Long (of the Vietnamese 阮福保隆 in old characters) is the heir in title to Nguyễn Phúc Vĩnh Thụy, name of reign Bảo Đại, last emperor of the Việt Nam, 13th sovereign of the dynasty of the Nguyễn. Prince Long Bảo was born the January 4th 1936 with the palate Kiến Trung from Huế and officially proclaimed crown prince the March 7th 1939. He is deceased on July 28th, 2007. His/her mother is the empress Nam Phương, born Jeanne Mariette Nguyễn Hữu Thị Lan. Following the first abdication of Bảo Đại, this one definitively leaves the Indo-China in 1947 accompanied by Long Bảo and its brothers and sisters. The family is installed in metropolis with the Castle of Thorenc with Cannes on the Riviera.

Long Bảo is sent in pension to the appendix in the South-west of France of the École of the Rocks of Normandy then studies little time at the School of Political sciences Paris. It integrates in 1954 the military special École of Saint-Cyr military school then the School of Cavalry of Saumur, of which it leaves with the rank lieutenant. It was used 10 years in Algeria in the Foreign legion where it was distinguished and was decorated, then for the famous Cadre Noir of the School of Saumur before withdrawing active service to work in finance in Paris.

With died his father Bảo Đại in 1997, he inherits naturally the position of Chief of House but states not to want to interfere themselves policy and to remain out of the parties. It wishes to be held distant from any public life. He dies on July 28th, 2007 of natural death in a hospital of Direction. He does not have any heir, apparent or presumptive; it will be thus his/her brother, the prince Bảo Thắng (born in 1943) who will be charged to succeed to him as Chef of the House of Nguyên and Main Grand about the Dragon D' Annam.
