Nezahualpilli
Nezahualpilli (1464 - 1515) was leading city-State of Texcoco, with the head of which he was elected by the noble ones with died of his father Nezahualcoyotl in 1473. Its name means “noble or lord who fasts” in Nahuatl.
Like his father, he was poet and was regarded as wise. He had also the reputation to be leading right. One knows one poem of him ( Icuic Nezahualpilli yc tlamato huexotzinco ). It brought at its court number of astronomers, engineers and artists. During its reign, it abolishes the capital punishment for a great number of crimes. He fought to keep the independence of Texcoco vis-a-vis the rise to power of the town of Tenochtitlan, become the center of the capacity Aztèque.
Nezahualpilli Maria with a girl of Moctezuma II. It had a great number of concubines and one says that he was the father of 44 children.
Cacamatzin, his/her son, succeeded to him on the throne. This one lost the capacity when the Cortes arrived. This one entrusted the town of Texcoco has another son of Nezahualpilli: Ixtlilxochitl II.
